Join our team!

We are looking for an Education Resource Developer to cover one of our team while they are on maternity leave. The position is fixed term, July 2019 – Feb 2020.

Duties:

  • Develop teacher training material for the National Digital Readiness Programme.

  • Develop classroom resources and lesson plans around digital technologies.

  • Organise, assist with, and manage local and national events.

  • Support volunteers and volunteer led Code Clubs across the South Island.

Skills:

  • Educated to degree level in Computer Science, Science, Maths, Science Communication, Education, or similar (essential).

  • Experience teaching with hands on tech including Scratch (essential), Python, Micro:bit, Makey Makey (desirable).

  • Experience in content creation.

  • Can work creatively and collaboratively.

  • Independent worker.

  • Good time management skills.

  • Able to remain calm under pressure.

  • Strong communication skills.

The team at DFA passionately believe that every New Zealander deserves the chance to develop the skills necessary to participate in the digital world. We focus our energy across Code Club Aotearoa, She Can Code, Code Club 4 Teachers and the Electric Garden. We have a small team with a main office in Christchurch, and staff based in Wellington, Auckland and Tolaga Bay.
